Recommend opening up to 3 days ahead of drinking, but at least open a few hours prior to drinking for aeration and decanting.
Eyes: Deep red.
Nose: Aromas of black berries, anise, mocha, pepper and spice. Cigar box and savoury notes play a supporting role.
Mouth: Dark berries, coffee and chocolate feature boldly on the palate. Great balance has been achieved between the fruit, acid, oak and tannins.
Food Pairing: A wine made in the Amarone style deserves to be paired with some strong flavoured dishes in the traditional Italian style - try with Osso Bucco. This wine is also great on it's own with a hunk of Parmigiano Reggiano. A wine that will keep on giving for 20+ years.
